JROTC Color Guard
JROTC’s Color Guard attended the ceremony to support the veterans at the 13th Annual Community Veterans Day Observance. It was held at the Veterans Wall and Museum on Nov. 11, 2022. After the Opening Bugle Calls and the Welcome, Color Guard did the Posting of the Colors, which is setting up the flags, to help start off the ceremony. Then to end the ceremony, they retrieved the colors. On the Color Guard are sophomore Ella Parsons, senior Mackenzie Perry, sophomore Baley Gardette, junior Jaya Chander, senior Harshita Chaudhary, and freshman Asra Obaidullah.
“It’s always really anxious, but you have really fun doing it and you have a lot of time to practice. I’m also on Varsity Color Guard, so it’s fun going out and doing events,” says Baley Gardette, sophomore.
Mackenzie Perry has been involved with the color guard since her freshman year and she has been a huge part of it.
“I love it so much! I treat it like my extra family. It’s my favorite group of people ever and it’s always so welcoming,” says Mackenzie Perry, senior.
