FFA Hosts Supply Drive
Ripon FFA hosted a supply drive. This benefited active duty military soldiers in need of support. Drop off boxes were placed in the library, Ag department, and the front office the week of April 3 through 7. Donated items were to be quality, full sized items. No travel sized products were accepted.
Acceptable items included, high quality socks, soaps, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorants, baby wipes, sunscreen, decks of cards, puzzles, water flavoring packets, gum, sunflower seeds, National Geographic Magazines, and masking tape for putting together boxes.
This was all organized by Senior, Hailey Knief. The output of the donations were far more than anticipated since a lot of the community contributed so they decided to extend it to this week of April 17-April 21.
Hailey’s intentions were for soldiers to feel at home with good quality hygiene products. FFA students had the opportunity to attain a grade boost by donating 3 products that were listed on the advertisement poster. In the span of a week they had gathered enough products to produce about 30 boxes.
Hailey stated, “ It’s going really well. I am hoping to get a lot more this week.”
This event has helped out a lot of our brave soldiers. Thank you to Hailey for her effort in trying to help others who are far from their family.
