One of the most well known and distinguished clubs of club rush is JROTC, or Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, which aims to help students of all kinds sharpen skills like leadership, wellness, achievement, and being a good citizen. Sophomore Nickolas Martinez, a first sergeant for JROTC who’s heavily involved in the program, states that JROTC is “…a more rewarding and beneficial program than its alternative, PE.”
JROTC has many options to choose from, such as marksmanship or drill. Students have lots of variety and a new found freedom when it comes to JROTC. This makes the club feel less restrictive and gives students the opportunity to make their own choices and decide what they want to do with their time. JROTC will give the students of Ripon High a sense of independence at the start of their years and help them throughout their future.
