California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is an academic club that has so many opportunities for you! This club is based on your semester grades and classes. This year the club advisor is the amazing counselor Mrs. Ross but who will it be next year? You’ll have to join to find out! This year’s president of CSF is Jenna Skavdahl and vice president is Mina Armanious. “This isn’t the only club I run but it is definitely one of my favorites. The counselors are what make it enjoyable and they make everyone feel like they belong,” Jenna says. Over this past year CSF has progressed immensely. They attended two colleges for a visit, UC Santa Cruz and CSU East Bay. These visits opened doors for CSF club members to show more interest in their future and maybe help them choose where they want to attend college. When asked, Mrs. Ross expressed domestic concerns, “Some students don’t even know what CSF is. We want to promote better next year and stress that students should be checking their email in the fall to join!” Something the club has advanced over this past year is publicity. Ellie Durocher is this year’s publicity officer and her hopes for next year is to see more people dedicated to the club. “I want to see more people at meetings and more people purchasing our shirts!” This year’s last fundraiser is on May 9-10th selling Mother’s Day cards with Polaroid pictures for a last minute gift. Vice president Mina says, “CSF has helped me research colleges, meet people, and helped me understand there’s so many options after high school. It gives me hope for the future.” CSF will be talked about at club rush next year but to be in this club you have to be formally asked via email. So don’t forget to answer your email in the upcoming fall and become a member of CSF!
