Ripon High’s yearly Sadie Hawkins dance was canceled this year due to lack of ticket sales. Sadie Hawkins is a dance where girls ask the boys to be their date. This years theme was the mad hatter. The dance floor was going to be decorated very cutely. It was honestly such a sad moment when the dance had to be canceled. The dance was scheduled on the same day as the biggest boys basketball game of the year. Many students were wanting to go to Sadie’s but couldn’t because they played on the boys basketball team or wanted to attend the game and support the boys. Girls league, the club in charge of Sadie’s, was not allowed to reschedule the dance. Ashley Gomez , a freshman at Ripon High, said she felt like Sadie’s being canceled had nothing to do with the theme, but everything to do with the fact that they should of let girls league reschedule the dance to a different day that there wasn’t a basketball game. Hopefully, in the future there won’t be a scheduling conflict and people can dance the night away.
