With the beginning of February here, it is time to start swim again. So without further-a-do, here are some things you should know before starting swim.
1) don’t do it just to get P.E credit. While swim seems like an easy choice, it is a misunderstood sport. Swim sports are some of the most demanding and challenging sport there are, but yet very rewarding.
2) it’s going to be expensive. Don’t expect to come into swim with one bathing suit (that is also your team suit) and not have to buy at least one practice suit. You’ll be in for a sad existence.
3) don’t be that one guy who claims he doesn’t need googles because “I’m a man” (or something to that extent) and then come to practice every day and ask to borrow someone else’s. Don’t be that guy.
4) now if you are the guy I stated in number 3, if someone does let you borrow their googles GIVE THEM BACK. It is one of our biggest pet lives as swimmer when someone doesn’t give back our goggles.
Now if you follow all of my tips, you should be okay going into your first day/season of swim!
