A fisherman in Spanish Fork Utah found an overturned SUV in the Spanish Fork River. It is said that the SUV went off the side of a bridge while attempting to drive from Springville to Salem. Unfortunately the did not survive the crash.
Amazingly though, her 18 month old daughter was found alive in the back seat. It is reported that the daughter survived 13 hours in the freezing Spanish Fork River. The river was so cold that the rescue workers who got the baby out of the car had to be taken to the hospital and treated for hypothermia.
The baby was released from the hospital on Wednesday March 11, 2015 and is currently staying with her father. There is no evidence of skid marks or mechanical failure before the car hit the cement barrier and went into the lake. There were also drugs found at the scene but no evidence they played any role in the crash.
