Ripon High boys water polo won their first round of playoffs with the final score 13-3. They faced off with the Livingston High Wolves on November 3, 2016.
The game was thrilling and involved a load of highlights by star-player, Noah Esenwein, who scored a total of 5 goals. Ty Wells, who plays hole set, scored four while Nick Gagnon, who plays hole set, scored two. Finally, new-coming freshman Maika West, who plays utility, scored two.
At the end of the match, Ty Wells said, “I thought it was good. We won so I can’t complain. We reacted well on defense, but we could brush up some things on offense.
Coach Erik Zador says, “ I think it went as well as expected. The next matchup will be against Christian Brothers most likely, so we’ll have a tough game so it was a good way to head into sections round two.”
Ripon lost 10-7 to Christian Brothers in the semifinals of the section playoffs.
