Ripon High’s choir put on a concert at the Immanuel Church, on Tuesday December 6. The show included sets from the high school choir classes, the middle school choir, the accapella club, and even a barbershop quartet. The turnout was far greater than expected and the crowd was “shocked”.
Freshman Skyler Kahan, enrolled in Mr. Serpa’s choir class, says “We’ve been working all semester to perform theses songs to the best of our ability. I think we did really good and it’s been a lot of fun” Her class performed 3 songs with 2 being in latin and the other a song in gibberish, also known as “universal music”. The advanced choir performed an introduction and a set of 3 songs later on in the show. “The whole audience was shocked when they started doing their little dance”, said Tianna Sidtikun, a student and audience member, about Advanced choir’s performance. Their teacher, Mr. Serpa, was so proud of his classes.
The middle school choir had their first performance as well. Their choir is composed of students from all 5 elementary schools. They performed 3 songs as well, one being an original of Mr. Serpa’s. Our school’s Accapella Club performed pieces they worked on outside of school, independently. The Barber shop quartet also gave a performance that they practiced privately.
