Ripon High TVL Preview
The varsity basketball team expects a full house on this Friday in their game against Ripon Christian (10-7, TVL 1-3). Ripon High (15-4, TVL 4-0) Varsity team has been working extremely hard in order to have a successful game, their effort is promising and they encourage the student body to come support them in a game that, as Noah Hernandez stated, “ Will give us a good idea of how TVL finals will play out.”
In a recent pre-game interview, Noah Hernandez (senior, #23) highlighted the key skills the team has been focusing on in order to win this week’s big game, “We’ve been focusing on defense in practice and really working as team, sharing the ball.”
Members of the Varsity Basketball team are in agreement that the game will be close. With Andrew Vander Wiede (junior, #55) and Zach Cortright (senior, #5) being some of Ripon Christian’s competitive and impressive athletes playing, Ripon High must be sure that all their practice, skills, and hard work is clearly displayed in the game.
“I respect Vander Wiede and Cortright as athletes, I think they offer a lot to their team. I think the scores will be close… but in the end if we play hard, play as a team, and everything will fall into place…” stated Noah Hernandez.
While Ripon is determined to make it to sections, becoming TVL champs, this game will determine many of the future seasons events.
“It’s going to be close, but in the end we will end up winning.” Matthew Hix (junior, #13).
The Ripon Boy’s Varsity Basketball team looks forward to seeing the support of their school on the 20th as they compete against Ripon Christian in this important TVL season game.
