Spooky Season

Spooky+Season

With the leaves falling and the nights getting colder, we take out our fall clothing and prepare ourselves for a month of rain, pumpkin flavored drinks, and corn mazes.

We all have traditions that come along with each new season. Senior Haley Meece and junior Ava Velasco decided to join in on a new one of their own as they participate in inktober. This is a challenge for artists to draw a new piece for each day of October.

Inktober is a fun way to express yourself emotionally, and creatively- Meece and Velasco did just that.

Haley’s inktober artwork.

“I decided to participate in Inktober this year because I really enjoy being creative and I want to go into something art-related in college…drawing something everyday for 31 days will give me the skills to do that,” Velasco said.

I really wanted to do inktober because it’s really challenging and it pushes what you can do with your art…because you’re given two word prompts and have to come up with an art piece,

With the days getting colder, we bring out our cozy fall attire in hopes of staying warm this fall season.

Halloween socks, everyone’s favorite fashion trend during the month of October. Target is the go-to place for these fun fashion finds!

“I wear spooky socks because they keep me comfortable and festive,” Junior Aubree Pelon said.

“I like them because it’s such a cute and fun way to make socks a statement piece of your wardrobe when they usually aren’t. I especially love the fuzzy ones too because they’re not only cute but comfy!  It’s such a easy way to get excited about upcoming holidays,” Junior Jaynell Mora said.

Ripon High school decided to join in on the spooky celebrations by hosting a fun Halloween dance with a haunted house put on by drama club.

Fall is filled with delicious treats, costumes, pumpkin carving, and wicked decorations. With inktober, Halloween socks, and dances, Ripon high is invested in the spirit of Halloween.
