Meet Our New Ripon High Teachers
This 2021-22 Ripon High School year we have welcomed 15 new staff members! Some coming from elementary school, being substitute teachers or being a Ripon High School coach. Wherever they are coming from we welcome them to join our Ripon High Tribe!
Our first teacher is Cole Williams. He is one of the football coaches at Ripon High and he teaches US History and World History.
“I LOVE being at RHS! This is a wonderful community to be a part of. I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach here. My favorite thing about RHS is the students. There is a feeling of togetherness and school spirit that is lost in other schools.” stated Mr. Williams
Our second teacher is Shandi Ross. This is her seventeenth year teaching, but first year at the high school. Prior to this, she taught eighth grade, seventh, and sixth. She also taught in Modesto for ten years, and then came to Ripon Elementary and taught for six years.
“In a lot of ways, I do feel like a new teacher because teaching at the high school is very different from the elementary site. I have also enjoyed the fast pace of the high school, but going from having sixty students to 172 students has been a bit overwhelming when it comes to learning names and grading.” started Ms. Ross.
Our third teacher is Scott Sikma. Mr. Sikma is the new Journalism and Freshman and Senior English Language Arts teacher.
“ I have a few years of teaching experience in teaching in English and I think it has grown a little bit better. But it is interesting because I have seniors and freshmen. So the decorte is pretty interesting because I have the new bees and I got the ones who are getting ready to graduate. But it’s a pretty nice balance.” stated Mr. Sikma.
After all of the chaos last year with our teacher and sub shortage due to COVID, we are so excited to welcome our new staff members into our community.
