Total Takeover

Total+Takeover

I would make the world a tyranny and I would be the overlord over everyone.

— Spencer Redula

The world has been running the way it has for a while, but what would happen if there was a ruler over the whole world? Even if it was just for a single day, the world would be completely different if there was an overall ruler who had all the power.

The individual who was in charge would make laws and rules that apply to their personal beliefs, causing change throughout society. Everything could change in the matter of seconds depending on who the ruler was. This is a terrifying thought because a sense of familiarity would be gone.

“In a nonlogical way […] I would enforce laws that would make it unfair for everyone, except me,” stated Spencer Redula, sophomore.

Redula describes a tyrannical society. Ruling this way means that one has total control over the people they rule. This is a harsh way to run the world, but it would be effective and based on history, work out for the citizens in the long run. Many people would want to have full tyrannical control if they rule, but others would want to take a gentler approach.

“I would make it a law to be more open minded to everyone, everyone has to listen to the other side of the argument before discussing…,” said Garrett Bright, senior.

The approach Bright would take creates a world where everyone must listen to one another. No one would have full control over anything. Discussions would take place before an argument, so the global problems would be solved in a different way than they are now. With having the power to create these laws, some people would be shocked, while others would be extremely excited.

“I’d be on cloud nine, it’d be the best feeling ever,” exclaimed Ben Rogers, freshman.

Having the power to rule the world would be overwhelming, but also a crazy experience. Holding the authority to change anything you wanted or do anything you wanted is a new scale of power that most would either be terrified or overjoyed to have. Some would leave it simple, but have a great impact on the world.

“I would just try to stop all issues that occur if I ruled the world,” said Elle Mathews, freshman.
