Dude Be Nice Vol. 6
Every year at Ripon High for 6 years. The first 5 nominees were Principal Mr. Rangel, Mr. Jeff Hessler, Mr. Tyler, LJ, Mr. Perez, and now Sam! Ripon High’s Dude Be Nice program is to spotlight individuals that are genuinely just an all around kind and amazing person. All the clubs at the school get involved and help to make this such a wonderful event. It is always a treat to see who will get it every year.
“I feel very honored and privileged that the students and staff chose me to be this year’s Dudette. It feels fantastic, I love it, and it is the best thing ever!” said Sam.
Sam has worked for Ripon High since 2018 and she is so happy that she gets to represent her kindness that she shows around campus. She loves making bonds with the kids and giving them a good role model in their lives. Whether she is talking to kids on her golf cart or just hanging out with them she loves the environment and wouldn’t change it for the world.
“I think to be the dude/dudette you have to be kind and nice to the kids, but also be mean when you need to be like when they are being mischievous,” said Sam.
Her not so favorite part is being mean and stearn to the kids when she needs to be. Sam says that she doesn’t like to be mean but sometimes the kids need it to shape up. She says that even when the kids know she is being mean, she is doing it to keep them out of trouble.
“I try to be nice all the time to anyone and everyone. You never know what people are going through and nice words can always help,” said Sam.
Overall everyone at Ripon High love’s Sam. From her funny jokes to her warm smile. I think everyone at Ripon High can agree this was well deserved.
