Thanksgiving Traditions

From delicious food to visiting and bonding with family, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and everyone couldn’t be more thankful. Whether your family celebrates thanksgiving the traditional way or not, it is a time of relaxation and fun experiences. Some families might all gather together at one house annually, or others might even go on a vacation far away. No matter how Thanksgiving is celebrated, fun memories and getting together with family can always be memorable.

“My family’s favorite part, and especially mine is getting to see my family and discussing how we are thankful for so many things, with our family and our friends, and just how special it is to recognize that, and especially my family, we are pretty close, and it’s always great to see distant relatives on Thanksgiving,” stated Genesis Romero, Junior.

The best memories on Thanksgiving can vary greatly, but everyone has a certain aspect that they can call their favorite, whether that be making special food and family recipes, or just goofing off together and having a good time in the company of each other, and family members that you might not see too often.

“One year we got this duck machine that would shoot foam balls at people, and my uncle would hide behind the couch and pop up from behind the couch and shoot the foam balls at people,” stated Hailey Williford, Freshman.

Some of the best memories that are made are when you decide to do something crazy and different, whatever that may be. So no matter how you and your family decide to spend this year’s Thanksgiving, make sure that you don’t forget to have fun, and enjoy all of the special memories together with your family, and maybe try to incorporate a new tradition or even try a new recipe that can be passed down and enjoyed for generations.
