Girls Soccer Starting Up
With the fall season here, girls soccer has officially started. They haven’t had a league game yet but they have had many games to get them prepared for their following season. They have won all 6 of their pre-season games, but they are working hard to become better!
“We are definitely going to have an amazing season, and keep winning games. We have played some really challenging teams so far and just being able to be scored on first then come back and win the game (which has already occurred multiple times this season) is a big deal. Not every team has that mindset, and that is going to help us so much this season!” Maddie Winter (caption), senior.
We have welcomed two freshmen onto our girls soccer team this year, one is Olivia Maragos and the other is Ellena Parenti-Gomez. Olivia Maragos plays Midfield and has contributed to many of our goals in these pre-season games. Elena Parenti-Gomez is our new goalie and has made many amazing saves and has led us to many of our wins.
“I’m actually really surprised. I made varsity. But I love it a lot. The girls are really supportive and they call me their little freshie. And I love it, but it’s really an honor and I want to keep working hard to stay on the team.” Olivia Moragos, freshman.
Girls soccer has had 6 pre-season games/ scrimmages to prepare for our upcoming season. They have played many different teams that have many different skill levels but they have still pushed through and have worked hard. The more they give their all, the better they will play and communicate on the field, which will lead to many victories through their season.
“I do believe that our games that we have played prepared us for our future games because we can see how each team plays and learn, so that when we face a certain team we will know what to do.” Savannah Ponce, junior.
Since our girls have already put in work before the season has even started, let’s wish our Lady Indians good luck for their upcoming soccer season!
