Freshman Physics!
Here at Ripon High, we have a first year physics teacher and a fantastic coach! Mr. Herrin, a Ripon High teacher, works his hardest to help our students and staff. Herrin is an amazing teacher, from letting students talk and open up to him, to teaching how to lay-up for the freshman basketball team.
Mr. Herrin is a dedicated teacher willing to try new things and help out with clubs and sports. Herrin is a supervisor of the spike ball club at Ripon High as well. How does he keep up with this busy schedule?
“My free time right now is spent coaching or doing more school for me. If I find some time to myself, I enjoy watching a good movie. I am a sucker for a good night in,” said Mr. Herrin
As a basketball coach, Herrin is certainly busy. He is a wonderful coach for the new upcoming student athletes. The freshman basketball team is thriving in their season this year.
“Coaching is the best because I get to see some students do what they enjoy doing. We play a game and it is so much fun. It isn’t easy, but it is so worth it.” said Herrin.
Mr. Herrin is a great teacher for being fresh out of college. He allows students to feel comfortable and welcome in his classroom for a chat about grades or mental health. For being a young teacher at a new school, Mr. Herrin seems to have it down! Through stressful situations and finals, Herrin contains himself and continues to pursue his wonderful teaching career in hope his students will understand.
“Even though it is my first year, I have been welcomed with open arms. It is a little weird being colleagues with some of my old teachers but I have learned a lot. It has been very stressful but with lots of help, I hope I have been successful at my job,” said Herrin.
