Sophomore Spotlight: Ty Herrin

Ty Herrin, a sophomore at Ripon High is a student-athlete while also being involved with things around the school. Herrin has lived in Ripon his whole life. He has grown up playing many sports including, football, basketball, swim, and golf. Sports take up a majority of Herrin’s time, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I have played basketball and football my whole life because everyone in my family has played and I love to play them.” said, Ty Herrin

Outside of school, Herrin likes to hang out with his friends. His friends mean a lot to him as he says they have helped him through a lot of things and they are always just there for him. Another thing Herrin likes to do is play video games on his ps4 with his friends whenever he has downtime.

“My biggest supporter would have to be my mom because she’s always pushing me to be better and always helps with the hard things in life,” said Ty Herrin.

As stated above, Herrin’s biggest supporter is his mom. Whether it comes to school, sports, or just life in general Herrin says he couldn’t do it without her. She truly inspires me and makes me want to do better, Herrin tells us.

Herrin is also an active member of The Church Of Latter-Day Saints. He has gone to this church his whole life and plans to go on a two-year mission trip to serve the Lord after high school.

And in ten years he sees himself working and doing stuff with his family. He can’t wait to be able to get his kids actively into sports just like he is now. He isn’t sure yet what he wants to do when he is older but he states that he can’t wait for the ride.
