NFTs have recently has an uprising in popularity starting in 2021, but not many people know what they actually are. NFTs are a digital art piece that can bought or sold using cryptocurrency, meaning they aren’t paid for with the normal U.S. dollar. They can be bought straight away or bid off to the highest offer. It’s also the same when you sell NFTs, you can set a definite price or you can set an auction time. The concept is very complicated when explained to you in the complicated professional terms. Some people don’t know what they are period.

“No Fitness Training!” guessed Jaya Chandar in response. Chandar didn’t know what NFts were, so she asked to guess based off the acronym, she isn’t to blame because she was never explained the concept either. There isn’t anything wrong with not knowing about NFTs, she was only an example of how people have only heard the name and heard about the popularity instead of the concept. While some have a base understanding of what NFTs are.

“I think they might be like little pictures people sell online.” said Ella Perry. She is right, NFTs are in simple terms original pictures or art people sell on the internet for digital currency! Still, like Chandar, Perry doesn’t show a deep understanding or interest in NFTs. This has caused both of these interviewees to express their opinions that they don’t believe NFTs are worth the popularity due to the complicated nature of them. Even those who are fairly knowledgeable don’t have a positive opinion.

“It’s definitely shady, it’s going to fall through.” stated Caiden Gall. Gall had demonstrated his understanding of NFTs and then shared his opinion. People ever since crypto had started have been skeptical about it. People believe it’ll fall through or that they’re gonna lose money investing in it. Wether you believe that it is a waste of money or the future of money is up to you.
