Dual Meet against Riverbank

Now that track has started, the track team gets to participate in dual meets with the other schools around them. In the end, the goal is to win TVL so they can move farther up into more competitive meets. On March 30, the track team participated in their third dual meet against Riverbank and won.

“Today I did pretty well, started off a little slow, but picked up the pace on my later events to help get us points. My favorite part of the meet today was the bus ride up to Riverbank and waiting around for events to start because that’s when all the jokes and fun come out,” said Jaden Hamilton, senior.

Ripon won by a landslide this meet, and they hope to keep this winning streak going as they go farther into the TVL season. Women’s Varsity ended with 367.5 points and women’s open ended with 94.5. Men’s Varsity ended with 359 and men’s open 363. Looking over all of these scores we can see the time and effort these athletes put into their practices, and their performance really shows it. Overall Ripon did a great job getting good scores and running hard, jumping far, and throwing far.

“My favorite part of the track meet yesterday was getting to bond with my teammates and spend time with new people. I think that going into the meet, everyone felt really confident. After the meet I think we all felt accomplished and pleased with the overall results,” said Jenna Skavdaul, sophomore.

The team has 100+ students on the team and each of them contributes so much to their TVL meets. At the start of our season, you could see the passion in everyone’s eyes to come out and run. All of the track runners have put many hours into this sport and it really shows through in their races. At the start of their season, they started out with a win against Escalon and now Riverbank. They hope to keep this streak going. With everyone working together, they have a good chance at being TVL champs and representing Ripon High.

“I liked the meet, it’s always fun to see friends from the other team that I’ve competed with in the past. My favorite thing about track is the ability to compete as an individual as well as a team. I also think our team will make it far in TVL because we’re a strong team with goals that align with one another,” said Annie Wild, junior. [sno-poll id=”13809″ result_color=”#bf0d0d” tile_color=”#ffffff” align=”left” background=”on” background_color=”#ffffff” border=”all” border_color=”#888888″ border_size=”5px” shadow=”on”]
