Did you know there was a soccer banquet on April 11, 2022, to celebrate the soccer season? They ate, took pictures with their teammates, received awards, and talked about their past season. Many of the players appreciated this celebration for their season because of how hard they worked throughout it. 

The girls on the soccer team said because they had such an amazing team to play with and the season ended so soon, that a banquet was a perfect way to celebrate the end of the season and get closure on the 2022 season. Their season went very well. The team consisted of wonderful and committed players that ended up making it and winning TVL. They were also ranked first out of all of division four. All the girls put in so much work this season, so a banquet with all their teammates was a perfect way to celebrate their dedication, determination, and triumphs. 

“We are all really proud of the work we put in this season and how it turned out in the end,” says Alyson Harvey, sophomore.

Throughout many hardships during the season such as losing key players due to injuries and having to develop new skills, the girls preserved and worked together with their teammates to maintain positive attitudes, work as hard as they could, and stick through their season. 

“We had a good season even though it was filled with ups and downs due to hurt players. I think this showed us how to persevere through the hard times and enjoy the time we had with each other,” said Gabriella Ilardi, junior.

There were many awards given out to very deserving players during the banquet. Their coaches would give a speech explaining how great of a player they were this year and they would then receive their awards. Ilardi received TVL’s most defensive player and the All-League Award.

“I was honored to win the TVL most defensive player, as well as All-League,” says Ilardi. 

Banquets are a great way to be able to appreciate and reflect on your past season. You can spend time with the friends you made over this experience and celebrate your triumphs together. Over this celebration, athletes can be recognized and rewarded for their hard work and dedication and are able to remember the memories they made with their team over their past season.

“The season went so well and I couldn’t have asked for more. Winning TVL and then being ranked first in all of division four was so cool,” said Katie Martin, sophomore.
