Racing for the Title
On Thursday April 14, 2022 the Ripon High swim team traveled to Oakdale High School to swim in VOLs. VOLs is a meet where all the teams in the league swim against each other to see which team scores the most points and is considered the best in the league.
Points are awarded to first, second, and third place in each event, first bringing home 3 points for their team, second bringing home 2 points for their team, and third bringing home 1 point for their team.
After a long 5 hours, the events had ended and the points had been finalized. The Ripon High Varsity Girls Swim Team won VOLs with a score of 156 points, while the Ripon High Junior Varsity team also won but with a final score of 117 points. The Ripon High Boys Varsity team placed second, with a score of 148, only 18 points behind Oakdale.
Either way, both teams did very well and had a very good season! Now, those who qualified will move forward and swim at sections in May, while the rest who did not qualify are finished with their 2022 swim season.
