FFA’s Annual Giving Tree

The FFA Giving Tree is an event held at Ripon High that happens almost every year. The FFA and AG department sets up Christmas trees at different locations to accept gifts from those willing to help in the community to give to those who are less fortunate. It is a very generous way to spread Christmas cheer during the holiday season. Students can take a tag and bring a gift to turn in at any Giving Tree location and they have the opportunity to help out a family who can’t afford Christmas gifts for their loved ones. This cause truly benefits the community and those in need.

“With a strong community built upon helping one another, we can benefit our society to look out for the people in need, especially during expensive times like Christmas. This brings people together indirectly. Although students don’t get to give their gift directly to their assigned family, they can assuredly help that family and it does strengthen the community and holiday cheer,” states Lauren Martini, a senior and member of the AG program.

It is so important to get involved in local events that help in supporting the community. It makes people feel great to be able to contribute to events like the Giving Tree knowing they are supporting a family in need during difficult times.

“Being able to have an opportunity like this feels really cheerful. It helps boost the Christmas spirit of giving and shows how generous our town of Ripon really is. It is a way to give a helping hand to families who need it, and give them hope during these difficult times,” added Martini.

This cause benefits all parties involved in some way. It helps spread love and joy throughout the community, especially to those involved. This is why you should get involved in Ripon High’s annual Giving Tree in order to support those in need and spread holiday cheer.
