Boys Golf’s Victory
Boys Varsity Golf was able to finish their season stronger than ever. The Ripon Indians dominated by becoming the TVL champs and competing in Divisionals. The pro golfers on the varsity team are senior Chad Flory, juniors Ty Herrin, Jeremie Little, Marcus Atienza, sophomore Vincent Uecker, and freshman Richie Hughes. Flory received TVL Most Outstanding Golfer award and Little received the TVL MVP award after the team was named TVL Champs for the season.
The team competed on May 8 for Divisionals at the Peach Tree Golf & Country Club at Marysville, CA. Little shot a score of 74; Uecker shot a score of 79; Flory shot 83; Herrin shot 91; Hughes 93; and Atienza 98.
“I was confident playing in divisionals[…]knowing I was able to compete with other people and be able to make it to masters,” says Little.
Musseman, the head coach, was proud and satisfied with the overall season. “I had a lot of fun with the kids,” states Musseman. “We did some good things, it just didn’t end the way we thought it should’ve.”
As a result of these matches, three players are moving on to Masters: Little, Uecker, and Flory. “[The season] went really well,” states Little. “I think a lot of players got better and I think our team will be a lot better next year.”
Great job to the team for the season and good luck to the players that are set to compete in Masters!
