Bethany Construction Update

Bethany+Construction+Update

Each season brings many changes, and in the city of Ripon, there are many changes to be expected this summer. New businesses are opening their doors, and both Bethany and Ripon High are adding buildings to their grounds. Bethany has undergone a noticeable expansion, with a new three-story structure looming over Main Street. This new addition to Bethany’s 22 acre campus is called, The Terraces at Bethany, which, when finished, will offer modern residential homes for those aged 62 and older. For the past year, it has been a common sight to see construction workers laboring all hours to build The Terraces. Because of this, the building is expected to be finished by April 1, 2025, with residents officially moving in by June 2025.

Bethany’s executive director, Cindy Scheublein, comments on the building’s purpose: “The purpose of The Terraces at Bethany is to meet the needs of older adults as they age in place. They are independent when they come in, and as they age, we will be able to bring services to them so they can stay in their apartments.” The Terraces are expected to offer an abundance of amenities and services to their residents, including dining venues, fitness areas, and large gathering spaces. This three-story building will forever change the landscape of Ripon and will soon become extremely important to the community.

When asked how she thinks The Terraces will affect Ripon, Scheublein states, “I think it’s going to affect the downtown area because it’s going to be a beautiful segue into the downtown corridor. It really is going to change the way downtown Ripon looks with a building of this height. But I also think it’s going to be great for parades, as the residents will have balconies and they can come out and watch the parades. They will be able to see the Ripon High Homecoming Parade right from their windows.”

Scheublein continues, “I think it’s also important because it sends a message to the community that even though people are aging, they are vital to our community. We’re right on Main Street, and that sends a message to everyone that older adults are important and have a lot to contribute to our community.” Scheublein perfectly stated how important The Terraces are to the Ripon community. All of Ripon can’t wait to see The Terraces at Bethany open!
