Organizing the Chaos

Organizing+the+Chaos

One of the most common and important aspects of a student’s life, especially in high school, is staying organized. Whether this be organizing all your schoolwork into different sections of a binder, or planning your upcoming week’s schedule minute-to-minute to keep your life a little less chaotic.

It definitely helps me destress because then I feel like I know where everything is and then I don’t waste time finding things; it makes things more efficient so I am less stressed,

“It definitely helps me destress because then I feel like I know where everything is and then I don’t waste time finding things; it makes things more efficient so I am less stressed,” stated April Yan, Junior.

Although the idea of staying organized may sound itself like a lot of work, it really isn’t. Even though you have to put effort in to see the benefits of staying organized, it is definitely worth it! Not only will this help you not forget important events of specific dates, birthdays, holidays, and more, but it will also help you make plans without planning an event at the same time as something else.

“I use the Reminders app alot on my phone and then I always put events in my calendar so that I get notifications when they happen. I journal and then as far as alarms go, I set alarms like half an hour before I have to get ready so that I already know what’s coming, and I set an alarm before I have to get ready just to give myself a lot of extra time,” explained Yan.

Organization is important to everyone, but especially important for any student involved in band, sports, school clubs, or really any extracurricular activities in general. Being able to balance homework, studying, and all those extracurricular activities while still trying to keep a social life can seem impossible at times, but staying organized definitely helps! This can be done by setting various alarms (just try not to snooze them too much), keeping and updating your daily planner, or simply using apps on your phone or a calendar.
