JROTC: Bringing Students Together

2022-2023 JROTC staff

One of the most well known and distinguished clubs of club rush is JROTC, or Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, which aims to help students of all kinds sharpen skills like leadership, wellness, achievement, and being a good citizen. Sophomore Nickolas Martinez, a first sergeant for JROTC who’s heavily involved in the program, states that JROTC is “…a more rewarding and beneficial program than its alternative, PE.”

JROTC has many options to choose from, such as marksmanship or drill. Students have lots of variety and a new found freedom when it comes to JROTC. This makes the club feel less restrictive and gives students the opportunity to make their own choices and decide what they want to do with their time. JROTC will give the students of Ripon High a sense of independence at the start of their years and help them throughout their future.

Charlotte Bitle, Journalist
Charlotte Bitle is a new freshmen in Ripon high. She loves music, sweets, writing, and animals. She loves the colors brown and pink and hates koalas, because they're creepy and weird. Charlotte has never done journalism before, nor has she ever explored the writing style of such a thing, but she is excited to see what her fellow journalists will come up with and looks forward to making some of her own works along with them. She hopes to make new friends, learn about different writing styles, and to grow as a writer entirely.
