Girls Water Polo Makes it to Sections

Girls+Water+Polo+Makes+it+to+Sections

With sections right around the corner, the girls water polo team try to prepare themselves for the upcoming game. On November 7th, the girls competed in the semi-finals against Sonora high, with the final score being 17-8. Not only did they defeat Sonora, but they created an unforgettable experience for their audience. Racing against time to take down Sonora, they gathered their solidity and eventually surpassed Sonora in the final score.

Going into the game Faith Fasani Sophomore says,” We already played Sonora once, and beat them only by a few, so we went in thinking we still have to play super hard, because we know they’re a good team still.” Fasani describes how playing united as a team is the most important thing in a game and everyone must remain humble. The girls played their very best, continuously pushing themselves to fight for the winning goal. When asked what the most memorable part of the game was, Faith says, “In the third quarter when we started playing not as good as the first half, but we still played as a team and didn’t give up, and in the fourth quarter we kinda turned that around.”

Preparing for Sections can be a very stressful time for some teams. So now our girls are beginning to prepare themselves for this important event. In sections Ripon High will go onto play Christian Brothers. This will be a hard team to beat, but their overall strength as a team will come through for the win. These girls have fought long and hard throughout this season to get to where they are now.

Thanks to the awesome team that they assembled they were able to make it to sections. So wish these girls luck, and let’s all go out and support the girls water polo team!
