Cross Country Recap

Cross+Country+Recap

The cross country season for Ripon High has come to an end. Ripon competed throughout the season, and due to their hard work, all runners were able to compete in subsections at Frogtown, Angels Camp. At subsections, our Varsity, JV, and freshman teams all competed for a spot at sections, which is a difficult task. Due to the hard work put in, the majority of Ripon’s runners made it to sections, which was held at Folsom High School.

Junior Leila Sanchez ran an outstanding season. As a varsity runner, there are harder obstacles you have to conquer throughout the season.

Sanchez says, “I feel proud of my achievements this season, since it was my first year, I’m proud.”

Continuing throughout the years with a sport can help students look forward to the school year, and improve more with their athletic abilities.

Sanchez explains, “I look forward to hitting more PRs next year.”

Even though cross country seems as if it’s an individual sport, the team surrounding you plays a big role throughout the season. You make friendships, and develop relationships with your teammates that’ll last throughout your high school career. The cross country team has had great success this season.

Sanchez says, “As a whole entire team, I think we did really well, especially with Devin making it to state and for all the people who made it to sections.”

Great job to Ripon Cross Country on your outstanding season!
