Last week’s invitational at Woodward Reservoir brought great results for all of Ripon’s cross country team.  All of Ripon’s teams placed, with Varsity guys and girls, JV guys and girls, and Freshmen guys, placing first. Varsity boys were ecstatic to beat Hughson, who has beat them at the past two TVL meets.  Everyone proved that they could push hard despite the heat and dust.

Along with the placings, came medals as well.  Just about every runner for Ripon received an individual and/or team medal.  All runners pushed to their limits and were rewarded with numerous personal records to go along with their “bling” as Mr. Calkins, coach of the cross country team, calls it.  The next meet Ripon hopes to shine at is October 12 at the Clovis invitational which is for varsity only.  This will be a meet to shine at due to the fact that it is on the state course, which our teams are pushing to race on at state finals later next month.
