Top 10 list of activities to do than be on your phone

Since the beginning of the century, people have become more dependent on screens to carry out our day-to-day tasks. But there are many times when screens have gotten in the way of people’s responsibilities and relationships with others. Here is a list of 10 different things you can do instead of constantly on your phone or computer:

  1. Spend more time with family. Your family loves and always want to spend time with you. Find something to do with them that doesn’t require a screen.
  2. Go out with friends. Whether it be going out for lunch or playing games with them, it’s nice to get out with a couple friends and just hang out.
  3. Catch up on your homework. There’s no better time to finish up your homework than when you are doing nothing except sitting around. Getting your work done early means that you will have time to do more enjoyable things later on.
  4. Go work out. There are many promises made by people that they will be more active and start exercising. But they will eventually give up because Netflix released a new season of the new hit show.
  5. Read a book. Nothing is more important than knowledge. And reading can always benefit you more than watching the Food Network.
  6. Clean your room. Don’t you ever get tired at looking your cluttered room? Why not drop the screen and pick up the pigsty of a room you have.
  7. Work. Whether that be a chore, or a an actual job. Always moving and having your mind distracted will help keep you off the screens.
  8. Go out into wilderness. There is plenty to explore, it just takes the effort of going out and finding something.
  9. Go on a road trip. Whether it’s with friends or family. It will always be nice to get out of the house and explore new things.
  10. Take a nap. Your eyes and mind might be very tired from watching screens all day. Taking a nap will let them reset and be better.

Along with these suggestions, there are many different options that one can do instead of always being transfixed on screens.
