10 Ways to Cope with Anxiety

  • Talk to someone/research online: Talking to people you are comfortable with can help you unleash all of the feelings you’ve been bottling up. If you don’t have anyone you feel comfortable talking to, researching online will help you find professional help or other ways to cope with your anxiety.
  • Improve diet: Improving your diet will help you feel healthier and happier. Eating foods that aren’t good for you slows you down, eating right and exercising instantly boosts your energy and makes you feel good and proactive.
  • Be positive: Thinking of all the happy aspects in your life, from big to little, will help you have a positive outlook on things. If you constantly think about all of your burdens, it’ll leave you no time to think about all of the blessings in your life.
  • Write your feelings out: Writing down your feelings is a good way to let everything out that’s been bothering you if talking to others about it sometimes makes you feel uncomfortable.
  • Get involved/ keep yourself busy: Keeping yourself busy and getting more involved in your education/extra curricular activities is a positive way to get your mind off of things, as well as doing activities that can help you out in the long run.
  • Learning to tolerate uncertainty: No matter how much we prepare ourselves for the events in our lives, there will always be surprises and uncertainty in our future. The future is inevitable. The sooner we accept that, the happier we will be.
  •  Learn what triggers your anxiety: Learning what riggers your anxiety can help you prevent/prepare yourself for the things that makes you feel the  most stressed out or get your anxiety levels high.
  • Solve it/Dump it: Solving the problem that causes anxiety will ultimately get rid of your anxiety issue, but if the issue is not solvable, reasonable and don’t cause anxiety.
  • Meditating (breath more): Find time for yourself by meditating. Clear your mind from stress and try to detach yourself from worldly issues that are causing for you.
  • Just let your anger out: Punch a pillow if you have to, scream, just let all the frustration out appropriately.  This will reduce your stress and clear your mind to allow you to take appropriate step to solve a problem.
