Winterfest Winners

Cowboy, Gregory Clark is a senior who is involved in Football and Track and Field. His hobby is playing video games. Senior Clark stated, “The thing that I enjoyed about Winterfest is the candy.” Clark believes he does fit this winning title but was not too amused to win.
Cowgirl, Malia Taylor is a senior who enjoys capturing all of the fun moments in life and photography as her hobbies. She is involved in link crew, yearbook, and Girls’ League. Senior Taylor stated, “I feel really good about winning, I am glad I got to experience something like this my senior year and leave my legacy.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Disco King, Nico Ilardi is a junior, who plays Football, Basketball, and Golf. He is involved in Link Crew, Leadership, and Band. Ilardi enjoys playing and listening to music and enjoys reading and watching sports. Junior Ilardi sated, “I love listening to older music and I know a lot of those songs so disco king was fitting for me.” Ilardi also enjoyed dressing up for Winterfest and is really apperiactive to all his friends who voted for him and though he should have been nominated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Disco Queen, Carmen Simon is a junior, involved in Cheer, Golf, Multicultural Club, Sacred Heart, Pride Tribe, Link Crew, and Leadership. Simon’s enjoys ASMR as her hobby. Junior Simon stated, “I enjoyed hanging out with my junior class officers and making the junior class cart.” Carmen Simon enjoyed winning and feels, “very popular” after winning the title.
Punk Rock King, Thasal Afzal is a sophomore who plays Soccer and is in Track and Field. Afzal is a member of the Pre-Med club and the Bug Club. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing video games like fortnite. Sophomore Afzal said, “The thing I enjoyed about winterfest was probably winning with Kelly or the excitement everyone showed with their spirit.” Afzal is happy to win because it shows that people recognized him for who he is.
Punk Rock Princess, Kelly Nyguen is a sophomore who loves to listen to music and make others laugh. She also loves to volunteer especially with her friends. Nyguen is a part of United, CSF, Girls League, Block R, and Renaissance. Sophomore Nyguen stated, “I enjoyed looking at all the window decorations and people who dressed up, disco day was my personal favorite dress up day because i love dressing up for decades!!” Nyguen did not expect to win but was glad to share this experience with her friend Thasal Afzal. Hip Hop King, Anthony Sausedo is a freshmen who is involved in Leadership, Track and Field, Basketball, and Pride Tribe. Sausedo’s hobbies are basketball, soccer, and hanging out with friends. The best part of Winterfest for Sausedo was decorating the class window and the shopping cart. Anthony Sausedo said it was, “an overall amazing experience,” and he was, “very surprised and pleased about winning Winterfest.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hip Hop Queen, Brooke Brogan is a freshmen who enjoys playing volleyball, traveling to new places, and listening to music, “especially musicals like Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen.” Brogan is involved in high school Volleyball, club volleyball for Pulse, and Basketball for RHS. Brogan also is the publicity officer for multicultural club and a sister in Girls League. Freshmen Brogan said, “I enjoy Winterfest because it’s really fun to dress up and show spirit for our school.”
