Successful…So Far

img_20160912_190206138The School Board met on Monday, Sep. 12 to discuss the new school year.

The Pow-Wow, Back-to-School BBQ, and Club Rush all went according to plan. Fall sports have also started, and Homecoming is getting closer.

Twenty-two students in the district got 100 percent on the SBAC test, four of which attend Ripon High.

The staff at Ripon High wants to stress the importance of quality feedback for the improvement of the school. “We use student feedback…to constantly improve,” Ripon High principal Keith Rangel said, “Knowing what students need helps us prepare them for college, career, and life after high school.”

There will be a tree planted at Ripon High School in honor of retired Colonel Dunn, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

Many Ripon High School teachers are being underpaid when compared to other schools in surrounding areas. “In Modesto [I would be making] $24,000 more than I do now,” English teacher Patrick Briggs said, “If we are going to have high quality teachers, we have to have competitive salaries.”
