Go Pink Or Go Home

October 18 marks a great day for our Ripon Indians. On that day we went out to defeat our longtime rivals the Escalon Cougars 42-21 but it wasn’t the only reason we were pumped to play. That game was also our annual Pink Out game in which our Ripon Indians play to represent breast cancer awareness.

 “Well obviously the Pink Out is a great cause because it goes with the whole October breast-cancer awareness theme. I think it was awesome to see the whole student section in support of that, especially when I’ve had close friends whose lives have been affected by breast cancer,” Senior Troy Brogan said.

This whole season Ripon’s varsity team has been playing hard to beat anyone in their way and the results of this game came to show. This game brought both the student section and the players together to contribute in their way, wanting to make it memorable. The student section cheered and represented breast cancer by wearing pink, while the players represented playing for a cause. 

This game also gave the long-awaited opportunity to strike back and leave the field with the win. Many plays were important and key for the game to go as it did, but it was a team effort that made it a great game. Not only did this game show the spirit we have as a whole school but it also showed us that Ripon Indians can make a great comeback.

“Our kids stepped up in a big way for this game.  There is no single person that really stands out or single play.  They played as a team, and that is what won the game,” Head Football Coach Musseman commented.
