Will the Golden State Warriors be Golden this Season?

In the previous season, the Warriors were an unstoppable force. They were in the top five standings in the Western Conference and also made it to the finals. They lost to the Raptors, in game six, due to many obstacles in their way, such as Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson getting injured.

The Warriors are losing many games recently, as some feel is because of their loss of three excellent players. Though they acquired several recently drafted players, they still lost good players. A newly recruited player does not have the corresponding significance of skill and proficiency as other players in the league.

They traded both Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins, Durant was exchanged to the Brooklyn Nets (by his choosing), and DeMarcus Cousins was traded to the Lakers. They lost one of their shooting guards, Klay Thompson, due to lacerating his ACL, who also is now an unrestricted free agent.

We have to have the mentality that we have to work for everything we’re going to get

Alec Burk injured his ankle, but fortunately, he is now back and playing with the team. Willie Cauley-Stein also injured his left ankle, and he too will be able to play against the Suns on Wednesday. During Game 2 of the Finals, Looney endured a fracture of the first costal cartilage on the right side of his rib cage. The injury was assumed to be a series-finishing injury converted into just single-game absenteeism.

The Warriors drafted multiple rookies in the 2019 NBA Drafting, one of them being Jordan Poole, who was selected from the University of Michigan in his Sophomore year. Jordan Poole, in his Sophomore year, ended second on his team in scoring (12.8 ppg), more than doubling his previous season’s output (6.0 ppg). Jordan Poole scored a career-high against South Caroline of 26 points in a single game. Some of his strengths being that he has a deep range and the ability to score in multiple different ways.

In the preseason, the Warriors have gone against the Lakers 4 times and have only won once. Granted, this is the preseason, and they can pull it back together in the season, but right now, it does not seem too suitable for the Warriors. The Warriors might not make the finals this year, but you can never guarantee anything, you never know, they could probably win the playoffs. At this very moment, the teams that have the most chances of winning the finals are the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orlean Pelicans, or the Brooklyn Nets.

This current season the Warriors have lost two of their three games, they lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers, and they won against the New Orlean Pelicans. The Warriors are overall standing in number 12 in the Western Conference.

The Warriors will be having two soon which are against the Phoenix Suns and the San Antonio Spurs. The Warriors starters are, which they also used against the New Orleans Pelicans, is Stephen Curry as their PG (Point Guard), D’Angelo Russel as their SG (Shooting Guard), Glenn Robinson III as their SF (Small Forward), Draymond Green as their PF (Power Forward), and Marquese Chriss as their C (Center).
