Kick Off To Spring

Almond Blossom Parade

Almond Blossom has been an annual tradition Ripon has done as long as anyone can remember. It consists of a parade, a festival, and royalty. It has always started around the start of spring when all of the almond blossoms bloom, hence the name. This year they put in new carnival rides like the Crazy Surf and the Spin Out.

“I had a lot of fun making the float for our company. Everyone who contributed did an amazing job,” said anonymous.

The parade is an exhilarating event that consists of a multitude of clubs and schools. They make multiple creative floats. It is an enjoyable way of showing off your imagination and artistic side. There were bountiful floats this year at the Almond Blossom parade as in the star wars fan club and ripon jeweler floats. People also rode on horses and unique cars in the parade such as the homecoming car.

“It was a really fun experience and I hope to be in the parade every year,” said 7th grader Chloe Knuclhome who was in the parade for her elementary school Weston.

People love to watch the parade, it’s excitable to see what new and different ideas people come up with over the years.

“My favorite float was the star wars fan clubs float. That one was one of the most creative to me because I had never seen anyone do that in the parade before. It was an amazing mix of colors and characters,” Freshman Emma Walker exclaimed.
