The Beauty In Your Playlist
Listening to music can affect many lives in a positive way, whether you believe it or not. The type of music you play on your playlist is radiated onto your body and can help benefit in finding new interests, living a happier life, and is proven to even help concentration.
According to the university of Groningen, a new research states that music can affect the way some prospect the world, which is unbelievable knowing a sad or happy song can change your frame of mind. “Music touches us all deeply, in ways that range from the obvious to the inexplicable. It can make us feel happy, sad,…angry, excited, joyous, relaxed, etc.. … it boosts your immune system and can create positive emotional experiences — it even helps relieve pain,” (Rich Tozzoli). There is a reason why we listen to the things we do in certain situations, because it helps our mind comprehend and set the mood for an event. Would you rather want a hard rock song during the father- daughter dance at your wedding, or a more sincere and soothing tune? Music all connects to our real life situations, and sets the spirit for any change in scenery which is why the type of music we allow into our lives is important.
What type of music do you listen to?According to Hypebot, a thousand songs are released every hour on your most used music streamed apps (Spotify, Apple music, Pandora, etc.). That’s one million new tracks every six weeks (Alan Cross). The usual music you listen to and love may vary depending on your age, race, interests, language, etc. There are a variety of music platforms to listen from, and have helped many people discover their true identity and interests, which is why having so many genres of music is appreciated.
Healthline states there has been research conducted to find evidence that suggests music can engage your brain to pay better attention to events. “Other research also supports music as a possible method of improving focus(Healthline).” Especially calm and classical music which can soothe a mind more easily into making it concentrate. This theory isn’t at all too unbelievable, knowing that many people already listen to music on a regular basis, to help get through tasks or while working, to increase their focus.
“Music is a language of emotion in that it can represent different feelings and barge into the soul with no boundaries or limitations,” (Charone Houri). Start listening to music and discovering new songs to see an impact in your life.
