As the 2020-2021 year is coming to an end for Ripon High students, seniors are having to get ready to move on into the real world, having to prepare for finals, and for some playing the last game of their sport before they move on into college. The Ripon High School’s boys basketball season is coming off the final stretch in the season.

“Just trying to make the most of it and not take anything for granted and help get as many dubs as possible,” stated senior Lawrence Smith.

Not only do sports help better team working and many life skills, but it also creates bonds that last a lifetime. As teenagers, they struggle with life and things that life itself throws at us, so many go to sports as a safe haven and create bonds we will never forget.

“Some of my favorite bonds would have to be with my coaches and my dad. My coaches have taught me that there’s more to life than just basketball. Basketball can be fun but it can teach you a lot of life lessons as well,” stated senior Malik Taylor.

Parents tell their kids that high school is an experience, and to embrace the moments and memories we create because sometimes these memories we create can be lessons. These lessons can help us make better decisions in life. High schoolers cherish these memories because it is when most have felt stress-free from life.

“The game against Oakdale and practices are always fun and just learning how to work with people and it’ll help me learn to communicate and work with people in the future,” stated senior Austin Bonilla.
