Thursday, April 22, 2021, the basketball world lost what could’ve been a future NBA star in a car crash that took place in Los Angeles, California. NBA prospect Terrance Clarke passed away.

Terrance Clarke was born on Sept. 6, 2001, in Boston. Throughout his career, he would wear the number five because one day, the day of his game he forgot his number six jersey, so he had to wear five, and ever since he’s been wearing the number five. He went to Brewster Academy in high school and had an amazing career there. He ranked as high as No. 8 in the final Rivals rankings and one of the top shooting guards in the country was selected as Sports Illustrated All-American Third Team, and attended the McDonald’s All American Game, which is a game of the best of the best high school prospects getting ready to graduate. He later committed to the University of Kentucky to continue his basketball career.

Clarke was to play his freshman year, but a leg injury put him at a halt until the SEC Men Basketball tournament. Before his injury, he was one of the most explosive players on the Kentucky team. For the six games he played, he averaged 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, and almost had a steal in every game he played. He performed very well in the playoffs but sadly did not make the March Madness Bracket.
