Summer Plans

Summer Plans

School is coming to an end and summer is quickly approaching. Everyone is making plans and getting ready for the summer heat. During the summer, some fun outdoor activities that people may enjoy are swimming, skateboarding, paddleboarding, going on picnics, traveling, and much more. Whether you are staying home all summer or barely home, you want to enjoy it.

“I’m going to Washington for the Fourth of July so we can set off our own fireworks,” stated Junior Kendra Carlson.

As mentioned previously, one of the fun outdoor activities that everyone loves is going on trips. Perhaps you are going out of state for a few weeks or even just going to the beach for the day, most trips need time and preparation depending on where you’re going and for how long. The best part of planning is figuring out the destination, also what you can do when you arrive at your destination.

“I plan on going on many trips this summer, including cliff jumping, bungee jumping, visiting family in other states, going on new adventures in the wilderness and visiting big cities,” stated Junior Lynette Drawdy.

For those who are going to be staying home a lot this summer, some fun indoor activities include drawing, gaming, watching a bunch of movies/tv shows, reading, and much more.

“I’m definitely going to start gaming over the summer since I’m not going to be very active, I just want to heal well so I can get back to soccer for next year,” stated Carlson.

Also during the summer, and really any time of the year, everyone loves to get a new best furry friend (even if it’s not furry)! From puppies and cats to snakes and lizards, a great way to keep busy this summer is getting a new pet to take care of and love.

“Some indoor activities I plan on doing this summer are taking care of my turtles, dog, and getting a baby duck!” stated Drawdy.

In addition to all of these fun activities, everyone likes to set goals for themselves. It may include wanting to try new things, learning a different language, finding a new hobby, or even having a ‘summer glow up’. Getting healthy and fit is always good and it seems that right as summer approaches, most want to get that summer body and start to workout and/or eat healthy.

“Some of my summer goals are to get fit, get my summer body, and work hard at work to raise my position,” stated Drawdy.
