The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) recently awarded Skyler Ortiz the Every Student Succeeding plaque. Ortiz’s unique story and never ending perseverance, led to his selection for the award. Hardships throughout peoples’ lives make a big impact on how they grow as a person.

Ortiz pushed through his hardships and was able to rise above it all. Ortiz says, “[Winning this award] means that people are noticing my change and my growth as I go through life.”

Ortiz was proud and grateful after receiving the award. In the future, he plans to continue his streak of success and go into the military. “I see myself growing and overcoming more adversities and challenges,” Ortiz states.
