Olivia Maragos is finishing off her senior year at RHS. Maragos has had a successful past 4 years involved in many sports, clubs, and spirit days.
She has had many achievements, her favorite one being that she has received a full-ride scholarship to Stan State for soccer. Maragos is playing her fourth year of soccer this season. She has also participated in volleyball for 2 years and will soon complete her fourth year of track come spring.
During her time at RHS, she has also joined some clubs, soccer and book clubs.
Olivia’s favorite memory is when she was told she beat the 100-meter dash record. Olivia also is involved in club soccer, playing for the 2007 West Coast Girls Academy Team, Kryptonite. She has dedicated multiple years to the sport since she was 3. As she approaches the next chapter of her life at Stan, she plans to major in kinesiology.
Teammate Taylen Dayak says, “Olivia has been such a positive influence on me this year. During high school [soccer], she’s always very positive and keeps me going, and then during club [soccer], she’s just great at sportsmanship. Win or lose she’s still positive.”
Over the years Olivia’s support system has been her family. She says they have done everything they can to make sure she knows she’s supported no matter the circumstances.
Olivia also has a sibling who dedicates his time as a substitute and also coaches JV girls soccer. When asked how Olivia has made an impact in his life, he responds, “I would say, that, not only does she make me proud, but she inspires me every day with all her hard work, and it makes me want to be the best version of myself. As annoying as she can be, she’s taught me many things, one of those being that through all that hard work and determination, nothing is impossible.”
If Olivia had a piece of advice to give to incoming high schoolers she would say, “Friends will come and go it’s a fact, but when they go there’s a reason and it’s not the end of the world. There are so many people to meet so don’t be afraid to get yourself out there and involved because you will be able to look back at these memories and be grateful.”
