Building Up a New Education
Colony Oak is midway through constructing a new school for the students and teachers. There will be many changes, which can be inconvenient, but the temporary inconvenience will be worth it.
One of the changes being implemented is the playground, which students are thrilled for. Students cannot contain their delight since their school has been missing essential elements during the construction.
“When the students get all new equipment they will definitely be excited because they haven’t had a real play area for six months,” 5th grade teacher Jennifer Ferolito stated.
All of the teachers are currently still in their old classrooms and will move in stages by grade. Kindergarten through second is moving in October and lastly sixth through eighth in December. Along with the remodeling, new additions will be included.
“Everyone is excited for the two new science labs. Colony Oak is working more towards the S.T.E.M. academics and the new school will for sure help,” Ferolito stated. The new changes will be helpful, but also confusing for some.
“The newest kindergarteners will probably have some trouble finding their way around the new campus after they learned the way of the old school. Other than that, everyone should transition well into the new school,” Kindergarten teacher Miranda Lucas explained.
This school will be built to last. It will be the new foundation for many memories and years to come. It is designed to enhance students’ abilities to learn. It will be enjoyed by teachers and students for many years to come.
