Thanksgiving is a time for people to come together, put selfishness aside, and give to the less fortunate. Here are some places you can give back to, whether it’s volunteering or donating.

One place you can volunteer or donate at is Bethany Home. Bethany Home is a place with assisted living, memory care, residential apartments, and skilled nursing care for your elderly loved one. The address is 930 W Main St, Ripon, CA 95366. You have to be sixteen years or older to volunteer,  you can go to the front desk and pick up an application to fill out. If you have any questions, please contact Lian Den Dulk, Social Services Director via phone at (209) 253-5123 or email at [email protected].

Another place you can give back to The Salvation Army. You can be any age and there are so many different parts to volunteer, such as Adult program services, adult rehabilitation centers, correctional services, disaster services, domestic violence, and more. If you don’t have time to volunteer you can still give back by donating money, clothes, airline miles, or even a vehicle. Locate your nearest Salvation Army for more information, 1649 Las Vegas St, Modesto, CA 95358.

With the Give Every Child A Chance program you can give back in many ways whether it’s tutoring, donating, or volunteering. They meet twice a week at the nearest program location, for one hour each session. Each session allows for a snack and drink
