Back at it Again, Fighting for the Win

Ripon High’s varsity football team took the win Friday, December 6 against Sutter! The game was played at Downey High School because of the complications of our wet and muddy grass. The ending score was 31-14. Our boys are so proud and excited to make it to State for the first time in Ripon High Indians history.

“We are a group of guys that wanted something so bad and were just doing something special with it,” said Senior Grant Weibe.

In the first quarter, #22, Grant Wiebe made a 1-yard rushing touchdown, #55 Nathan Valdez’s kick was good making the score 7-0. With 7 minutes left in the second quarter, #5, Colton Dillabo made a touchdown, the kick was good, making the score 7-7. With only 3 minutes left on the clock, #12, Nico Ilardi made a 58-yard pass completed to, #2, Brandon Rainer for a touchdown. Valdez’s kick was accurate once again, making the score 14-7. Kicking up a storm, Valdez kicks a 33-yard field goal, making the score 17-7.

In the third quarter, Ilardi completed a one-yard rushing touchdown and the kick was amazing, making the score 24-7. #19, Kyle Watson made a touchdown for Sutter, the kick was good, making the score 24-14. #23, Danny Hernandez made a 4-yard rushing touchdown, completing the kick again, making the fi
