Preparing for the Prom Season

It’s that time of the year for prom! With winter quickly coming to an end and spring arriving, the only thing girls can think about is prom season. To kick off the season, we had our annual Sober Grad Fashion Show to show us some looks on February 29th.

Prom is one of the biggest events for Ripon juniors and seniors. Many girls plan for prom months in advance and are already hunting for the perfect prom dress. While planning for a night they want to remember, they also want to look good.

I get my dress at the beginning of February and start to make appointments about two to three weeks before prom. The cost stresses me out the most. You have the dress, ticket, appointments and it is just a lot

Prom is an expensive event and most can not afford the nice dresses and expensive jewelry. Windsor, Dillards, and Macys are a few places that have many cute and affordable prom looks to help cut back costs.

“I don’t need a big fancy dress for prom. As long as I have a good time and surrounded by friends, prom will be a blast,” Senior Adriana Guzman said.

A lot of stress goes into planning prom. Between trying to make nail appointments, hair appointments, and getting spray tans without running into problems, it can be a hassle.

“The most stressful part for me would be getting my spray tan. You have to get it the night before otherwise, it wears off but you also don’t want to look orange,” Senior Ella McCracken said.

Ripon students can’t wait to show off their looks at prom on April 18th!
