While everyone was quarantining, Ripon’s very own corner store received new owners.  With Covid-19, many people took it as an opportunity to renovate. There have been many changes since the switch of owners that can be seen at the corner store.

The owners have added more items and taken away certain things, for example the sandwiches. The whole transition, from owner to owner was “ok” as stated by the Ripon Mini Mart. The owners of the Ripon Mini Mart also stated that the hardest part about switching owners was licensing. Despite licensing, it took about two months to fully receive ownership.

“It was new, and I didnt think they needed to add all the new products […] didn’t like the fact the sandwiches were taken away and missed the vibe of the original owners,” an anonymous customer stated.

Sandwiches during the 2019-2020 school year were an item many people enjoyed. Based on the constant long lines, this was a product that will be missed. Although there are people who didn’t exactly have the best first impression of the corner store, it doesn’t block out other people’s positive first impressions like Brandon Boyce and Ella Perry.

“Yes I would recommend this store,” junior Boyce stated.

As a ‘usual’ customer for the Ripon Mini Mart, Boyce definitely would recommend this store. Since the ownership is new and improved, the owners would definitely appreciate more customers, and more publicity. The owners promote their instagram every day and post restocks, and new items almost everyday.

“We’re excited to see new faces!” the Ripon Mini Mart owners said.
