Fun under the stars: Homecoming Rally

Rallies and events as such are a few of the things that make for a more memorable four years at Ripon High. This year has been filled with many downs and lows for students all around but it was grand news to receive that we would have just one more event amidst Covid- 19 restrictions.

Ripon High students gathered around the amphitheater in excitement and joy for the third annual Night Rally. This event was filled with many laughs and a bundle of entertainment for those who atteneded. The night rally was held March  29 and was a great event to show support for your class and to show spirit along with your peers. Performances were also made by Kiley Holland, Austin Bonilla, Niki Nguyen, Gabe Herrera, Laila Irogoyen, Jordyn Irby, Jake Graves and representatives of each class.

It was pretty awesome come considering everything going on with Covid right now but also very sad because it was my last one. Rally’s are definitely one of the funnest things about school and saying goodbye to them is very sad. Dancing was also very fun.

As much fun as it was to watch your peers perform dances and skits, it was also quite exciting for those who got to perform and be a part of this event. Students such as Kiley Holland, senior candidate for homecoming queen and her partner Austin Bonilla, candidate for Homecoming King, had to put together music and create their dance in a matter of two days. They lastly performed their dance for students to watch and had a lot of fun doing so.

“Austin and I had to put together music for our dance and make up the dance and learn it all in two days so it was really stressful trying to find the time to do all that but in the end we were able to make it work out.” said senior homecoming candidate Kiley Holland.

This was one of the last few events for the seniors of their four years at Ripon High and the last of the events for the other classes of the year. As much as it is bittersweet it was a very memorable and fun event to be a part of and to attend to.

“It was definitely bittersweet, but i’m grateful that we still had the opportunity to have a rally with Covid and everything going on,” explained senior Homecoming Queen, Jorydn Irby.
