Amelia Lara is a senior here at Ripon High and has been playing volleyball for eight years. Amelia started with gymnastics at first but then got introduced to volleyball by her sister, finding her new passion.
“My sister played volleyball. I was a gymnast and then she started doing volleyball, so I kinda went more into that and it’s just something I’ve always been passionate about.”
Some activities that Amelia likes to do are “Hang out with friends, I love to hang out with my family, I love to play volleyball, and I love to hunt.”
Since the start of the volleyball season the team has been very correspondent with each other, Ameila stated “I feel great, I feel like we’ve all are already like a family… like we’re all bonding pretty well… ” Before the games Ameila gets fired up by listening to music in the team room with her teammates, “Definitely music, we’ll all like kinda like go in our team room and listen to music together so that definitely helps out.”
Since this is Ameila’s last season playing volleyball for Ripon High she’s looking forward to “Hopefully taking another undefeated victory in league and I would say seeing how well or how far we can honestly go as a team.”
After high school, Amelia is going to school to become an Aesthetician to help people with skincare. Good luck in the future, as well as good luck to the Lady Indians!
